"Melting Pot," a multilingual children's series, tours to schools, special ed facilities, and after-
school programs in parks & recreation centers, public libraries, and youth centers. The target
is reading age children and their teachers, parents and counselors, but younger children will
also enjoy the highly entertaining stories and puppets. Through this series, children learn: self-
acceptance, tolerance, simple language skills, and cultural traditions. The classic Latino morality
tales connect young Hispanics with the literature of their heritage and introduce others to traditional
stories from Latin America. The amount of English or Spanish is adjusted for each audience. Other
presentations are in English, with a sprinkling of foreign words and inspiring messages. Children interact,
play roles, enjoy the puppets, sing and dance. We have also pre-sented children's stories in French
and English by the great Romanian writer Eugene Ionesco, and look forward to exploring stories from more cultures.
